Looking for a Venue

My brother asked me to join him and his fiancée look for a venue in Tagaytay for their wedding next year. Excitedly, Joseph and I cancelled our trip to Los Banos.

Joseph and I got home before 8AM and left with Kuya to pick up Joan, my Kuya’s fiancée. It was really cold yesterday, and I found out in the newspaper today that, Metro Manila registered a temperature of 19.3 degrees Celsius yesterday. It was even colder in Tagaytay. Good thing Honey was with me to keep me warm. Nice.

We first checked a restaurant (I forgot the name), it was common, minimalist and modern. The view was spectacular however the garden was too small to hold a wedding ceremony.

And then we went to RSM Lutong Bahay. The furniture they used were all carved wood. Beautiful. The garden was bigger this time however we can only used it for ceremony during the weedays.

And then there was Casablanca. A Mexican-inspired casa with a view overlooking Taal lake. We were lucky enough to see a wedding set up yesterday. I liked the set up they made on the swimming pool where a platform was placed. Five stars go to the tables and chairs and the cloth they used to dress them.

The place also offered 2 bedrooms that the bride and groom can use as part of the package. A whopping 60 thousand pesos just for the venue and set up alone! Sheez! Ang mahal na magpakasal!! Well the good thing about this venue is you can choose your own caterer.

We left our tour guide at Casablanca and head back to RSM for lunch. Ang tagal ng service nila ha! May kamahalan din. Buti na lang we were with our loved ones kaya okay lang na maghintay.

Our next stop before driving back home was the Nurture Spa. It was located outside the city proper. About 7 minutes drive from Leslie’s. The place was serene and has a very big garden to hold the ceremony and reception. We also saw (thru pictures) the sets up they made for previous weddings held at the place. It was overwhelmingly beautiful specially the paper lanterns they made for the night reception.

It was a reality check for me to know the current prices for weddings. What I have learned in that field trip? Mahal na magpakasal.
